Give the calculator a date of joining and a probation length and it returns the exact end date, the date confirmation takes effect from, and how many days are left to run. It also handles an extension.
Probation in India is usually three or six months and is whatever the appointment letter says. The calculator adds that period to the joining date, adds any extension, and clamps month arithmetic to the last valid day so joining on the 31st does not spill into the next month. Confirmation is shown as the day after probation ends. In many workplaces, if no extension or confirmation letter is issued by the end date, the employee is treated as confirmed by conduct, but this depends on the contract and any certified standing orders, so it is not automatic everywhere.
Three to six months for most roles, sometimes up to a year for senior positions. There is no single statutory figure for the private sector; the contract governs.
It can be extended, usually once and by a defined period, and the extension should be communicated in writing before the original end date. Open-ended extension is poor practice and can be challenged.
Often in practice, yes, confirmation is inferred from continued employment past the end date. But some contracts require an express confirmation letter, so check yours.
Usually. Probationary notice is often 7 to 15 days against 30 to 90 days post-confirmation. The Notice Period Calculator can work out an end date.
Some employers extend probation by the length of any unpaid leave taken during it. If yours does, add those days using the extension field.
Yes. Probation is part of continuous service. See the Years of Service Calculator.
